@Helpmewithstuff

When you say you "disconnected my nest cam from Google Home", what exactly did you do and why, and is your camera the new Nest Cam Indoor camera (https://store.google.com/product/nest_cam_indoor?hl=en-US)?

I was traveling and wanted to take it with me and set it up on a different Wi-Fi. I couldn’t get it to set up and I read that I should remove the device from my Google Home which is what I did. But I still couldn’t get it to connect. Anyway now I’m back in my original location with the prior wifi that it had before and I’m trying to connect the camera and it says that it’s needs to be disconnected from my Google profile but I already did disconnect it so I’m not sure where to go from there or how to set it back up ?

As far as the camera goes it must be the version right before that one on the link you sent because it doesn’t have those two little dots above the lens

Google Nest does not make it easy to change Wi-Fi networks on most of its Google Nest devices. The process is to remove the Google Nest device from the Google Nest app or Google Home app while you are on the original Wi-Fi network, then do a factory reset if it did not occur automatically, and then re-install while on the new Wi-Fi network.

I'm not sure exactly all that transpired in your case, but if you removed it from the Google Home app after you had left home and were not on your home's Wi-Fi, then the camera would have been offline and the automatic factory reset would not have occurred.

You could try doing a manual factory reset and then try re-installing. Depending on exactly what happened with your camera, that might work.

Thank you. How do I do a factory reset?

The camera is not listed on my Google Home anymore so not sure how to reset it?

@Helpmewithstuff

The instructions in the link I shared above has a link on how to do a factory reset manually.  Here is that link:

Thank you I’ll try this now and let you know if it works. Appreciate this!

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Thank you for your help, MplsCustomer!

Best regards,
Brad

Hey I tired the link but I don’t see where it says how to perform a factory reset. It just just explains what the factory reset does .

Actually I found out how to do it and fixed it. Thank you
