Hi
I've got a Nest Doorbell (Battery) and I've just installed a Google TV Streamer.
Will the doorbell automatically use Matter to communicate directly with the Nest speakers in my home? Or will I need to set up the doorbell again?
I'm hoping the latency of the chime notification will be reduced because communication will be local and not through the cloud.
Thanks

Hello, badboygolf16v
Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. We are so happy to assist you with your questions about the Nest Doorbell Battery.
We're glad you're enjoying the convenience of connecting your Google Nest devices. When both devices are configured in the same Google Home account and within the same 'home' structure, they're designed to work together smoothly for most functions.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Kevin

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it doesn't answer my question.
I find the delay been my doorbell being pressed and my Nest speakers alerting me to be unacceptable. The latency of the cloud services is many many seconds even over my gigabit broadband.
I want to know if using the Google TV Streamer, which has a Thread border router and apparently local Google Home APIs now will mean that all communication will be across my local network.
If you don't know the answer I'd be most grateful if you could forward the question to a development team.
Google's documentation on this is severely lacking.
Thanks
