Does anyone have cameras that work?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just wondering if anyone out there actually has  google nest battery cameras that work the way they were advertised to work? Im yet to meet a person in "real life"  or read any positive feedback online. All i hear and read is negative comments about a product that always has problems. Just interested to know if anyone at all has ever had these camera features work the way they were advertised to work for any great length of time. As of right now ive no positive feedback at all none nada zip nothing.

We've had a Google Nest battery camera for 20 months now, plugged in with the optional power cable.  It is online and "Live" at all times and its performance is similar to that of our older wired Google Nest cameras, although we have to use the Google Home app to administer it. We didn't want a battery camera since we live in Minnesota and the camera is mounted high up, but Google Nest quit selling their outdoor wired camera a month before we bought this one.

I have both wired outdoor cameras and battery outdoor cameras. It requires the Nest app for the wired cameras and Google Home app for the battery cameras. I can access the wired cameras on the Google Home app but doesn't give full functionality as the Nest app does. I added a wifi password to my existing wifi and wired cameras connected without having to take them down. The battery cameras will not connect to the app . I have followed the instructions many times. Just found a paragraph that states the outdoor battery cameras need to be removed from Google Home app while still connected to original wifi. I can't believe this is so complicated for simple adding a password or changing a router password. I have been trying to reconnect the cameras for two days. Google should be ashamed for not making it easy to do.  Many people have had similar problems reconnecting cameras that are battery powered outdoor cameras.  I have added the wired charging cable to the cameras and batteries are full. This is very frustrating.

Hello everyone,

@Anonymous, thanks for posting here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I'd like to confirm, what specific functionality of features you are referring to about your Nest Camera? We would appreciate it if you could share this information so that we can check our options here.

@markomarcum, we appreciate you sharing the steps you've done adding them back to your Google Home app. However, for new Nest Cameras, aside from removing them from your app you also need to reset them to the factory default. The light should be a pulsing blue light. Indicating that it's ready to be set up to the app. Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer
