Dog bark alerts: Alexa vs Google

Nest Cam disabled dog bark alerts when moving from 1st gen to 2nd gen hardware. I have seen many YouTube videos about setting up Alexa alerts for dog bark routines / notifications. Should I switch to an Alexa household? When will google be bringing back dog bark alert features?
