Doorbell battery announcements

Has anyone got announcements working on any other device than the google home app ? I have a bunch of nest cameras, smoke detectors and thermostats plus Amazon echos.

at the moment, no one in my house can tell if someone is at the door as we tend not to carry our mobile phones around.

I have no neat way of adding a wired chime which was the main reason for getting the battery one.

thanks

Unfortunately Sonos ONE and Sonos Play 1 are two different speakers. I don't think Sonos Play:1 has the possibility to have voice assistant (google assistant voice control) added to it. I have it working on a Sonos ONE. I really do hope that they will develop a skill for Alexa to integrate the new nest devices so that Alexa enabled speakers can make visitor announcement ASAP. (I have 3 Sonos ONE and a Sonos Beam that has Alexa on them).

Sorry to say but the new doorbell battery only works with Google Home. I haven’t been able to get it to work on anything else.

Does not work with alexa devices yet, I really hope google would make a skill for alexa for this.(previous version of the door bell aparently works with th Alexa Nest skill)

I have it working with google hub 2nd gen screen/speaker as well as on a Sonos ONE speaker where I have google assistant activated.

How did you get it to work with Sonos? Does it announce door bell pressed on the speakers?

Yes, when doorbell is pressed sonos gives alert sound and says "there is someone at the front door". You need to have google assistant on the sonos device first, turn on 'visitor announcenent' in the nest doorbell (battery) settings, then relink sonos to google home app.

I’ve tried what you suggest but mine doesn’t list (Sonos Play:1)

Hi again,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am glad that we have some other community members who are here to help. Check your settings for sure, but definitely a large part of the alerts when someone comes is sending an alert to your phone. I would say that most people nowadays, have their phone with them usually at all times. I think that was why the alerts and announcements work they way they do.

Best Regards,

Brad.
