Doorbell battery not charging or starting

Hello, my battery operated doorbell doesn’t seem to charge or start up.  There are no lights when charging however I do see a green lightI and solid white light but it doesn’t stay lit.  I’ve done a reset and I believe factory reset.  I removed it from Home app but can’t get it re-added.  I’ve even called customer support but it still does not work. It was working fine prior to this.  I’ve owned it for 2 years so it is out of warranty and Google can’t provide credit.  Any ideas on how to fix.

Mine as well & I just got it last November. It'll have the white light pulsing as if it's charging but as soon as I unplug it, it makes the shutting down  noise & dies.

Hello @skoman,

Thank you for reaching out to the community! It sounds like you've been troubleshooting your doorbell charging issue, and I understand the frustration of it not starting up even after a reset. Great job taking the initiative to fix it yourself!

While you've already tried a factory reset, there's one variation we can try. This time, keep the doorbell connected to the charger for the reset process. You can also find the factory reset steps on this link: Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell

Please try this step and let me know how it goes!

Regards,

Jorge.

It's not working. It'll reset connect, tell me the battery is fully charged but won't come on & dies as soon as I unplug it. I thought I was getting a replacement & sending this one back?

Hello @albertsonj30,

Thanks for reaching out about your Nest Doorbell battery not working even after troubleshooting. I understand the frustration, especially when the doorbell appears fully charged but loses power when unplugged. It seems like the doorbell relies on constant power and doesn't hold a charge as expected.

In this case, I need some information related to your doorbell to see if it is still covered by warranty. To determine the best course of action, please fill out this form with the information required, and one of our specialists will be giving you further assistance.

Please let me know once you are done. Thank you.

Regards,

Jorge
