Hey Steventurban,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

Sorry to hear about what's going on with your doorbell. When did it start happening? Could you check if the activity zones you've created overlap? Also, try to reboot and reset your doorbell to refresh the device. Check out this link: https://bit.ly/2KtAxjp

Thanks,

Archie

It started about 3 weeks ago and continues today. We have repeated "PERSON" alerts. There are no persons, animals, shifts in color, reptiles, spiders, birds, NOTHING!. I can stare at the 5 person notifications in 5 minutes and see no changes. I have removed the doorbell camera and reset it several times using a pin tac in the back. I have also deleted and replaced the activity zones.

Hey Steventurban,

Sorry for the delay. Do you use email or push notifications? Are there other family members who can access the camera? Do they receive any notifications? Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Archie

Yes! my wife receives the same FALSE "PERSON FRONT DOOR" notifications as I do.

Hey Steventurban,

Understood. Could you send us a screenshot of your Activity zone that you setup on your Nest camera? Also, there are a few things that can trigger unwanted alerts or false positives, here are common triggers to name a few:

  • Changes in the light level
  • Shadow moving across the frame. For example, if a cloud moves in front of the sun.
  • Trees or bushes swaying near your important areas.
  • Headlights or flashing entering the field of view.

Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Archie

Sure, but it says it is offline and google says I do not have permissions to upload images.
I do get motion detection when the IR flips or cloud movement but you can see the light and movement in the video. With people detection, there is no obvious movement or light changes. I think this doorbell camera is giving up!

Is there another way to send an image?
