Doorbell chime and Google Nest Speakers

Eddy123

I’ve recently installed the nest doorbell and I’m incredibly disappointed with the functionality. When the doorbell is pressed it takes a few seconds before anything happens, then the Nest speakers quietly chime out of sync. I’m relying on the phone notification to hear (with a significant delay) the doorbell chime.

Why can’t I set the volume of the doorbell notification on the nest speaker to be louder (without changing the volume for music/videos etc)? Why can’t the chime be in sync across google speakers or set to specific speakers/groups? Google are spending time releasing seasoning chimes but not introducing basic functionality?

How can I request these features and is there any point in trying or will they just ignore feedback? From searching online it seems to be a common complaint but nothing is being done.

return the doorbell if you can.  it is the worst one on the market.

Hey Eddy123,

I'm sorry for the delay. Let's check about the delayed announcements on your Nest speakers — when did it start happening? Did you make any changes to your Wi-Fi network? How far are your doorbell and Nest speakers from your Wi-Fi router? Are you using a dual-band router (2.4GHz and 5GHz)? If so, which band are they connected to?

For sending feedback, you can check out this link to learn more.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi Archie,

Thank you for your reply. Are you someone who can help introduce new features for the product (dedicated chime volume control, speaker/speaker group selection for chime sounds etc.)? The problem is not with my set up, it's with the lazy design of the product, I'm hoping that with enough negative feedback, the developers may actually update the product with the features that users have been requesting for years (as posted in many forums).

I don't need troubleshooting, because the issue is with the product, but if you need answers to the questions:

- From installation

- No

- Close Enough

- I'm using the Google Nest Router which switches between the 2 bands

If you could help begin the process of implementing these features, or provide a link for how I can get a partial refund for buying a product that doesn't do its job, that would be great.

Thanks
