My father passed away and with him the email address that he used for his doorbell is gone. I called Google nest support and they told me if I disconnected the doorbell for two days, it would reset and I could attach it to my email address since I am setting it up for my mother. I let it stay disconnected for three or four days and tried to connect but it still says that it is connected to another account. Any suggestions? I have no way to know what the email address was that the installer set up with him when it was initially installed.

I'm pretty sure they left out an important step. You have to do a full factory RESET on the doorbell before it will let you add it to a new account. Here is the link for the instruction. Make sure you do the RESET and not just the RESTART. Follow the directions exactly.

That "wait for two days" suggestion doesn't sound right at all. Judging from other posts I've seen in this forum, I suspect Google Nest simply does not have a way to remove a Google Nest device from a previous owner's account if the previous owner cannot or will not do so. This is what Google Nest Help says: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9249728?hl=en
