I just bought a wired doorbell but dont undestand if i need the chime conector to hear when someone is at the door. What is the function of the chime conector, to sound itself, or making your existing chime sounds. And if i don't connect it, will my two nest mini speakers and movil will sound or not ?

Below is what Google Nest says about the chime connector.
"Install the chime connector if required
Important: The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (wired) must be installed with the chime connector included in the box. The Nest Doorbell (battery) doesn't need the chime connector for wired or battery-powered installation.
The chime connector allows the chime's wires to deliver constant power to the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (wired) and protects your chime from damage. In addition, without the chime connector, you might experience chime buzzing or unexpected chimes."

If you do NOT have an indoor doorbell chime and are connecting your doorbell directly to a transformer or power adapter, it seems that, given comments from Google Nest Community Specialists in this forum, you do NOT need to use the chime connector.

The purpose of the chime connector is to provide continuous power to the doorbell's camera without tripping your indoor doorbell chime.

Thanks, but if not connected will that damage the doorbell ? And the nest speakers will “ring” when someone is at the door ?
