Doorbell won't announce visitors or chime inside

I have a Lenovo display with Google Assistant but it won’t announce when someone rings my Google Nest doorbell

The Display was set up using Google Home

1. Doorbell was added to Google Home app using barcode and visitor announcements turned on but does nothing
2. Tried to use Works with Google but only option seems to be to use Nest.

Nest won’t accept my gmail address or send me a Forgot Password email

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, I would love to look into this for you. It is possible that this display doesn't work with announcements, or there may be a setting that could be affecting its ability to announce visitors.

I have searched and searched for different settings to no avail.

I am wondering if Google does not support the Lenovo product despite the fact it comes with Google Assistant. Fail Google!

My workaround is to use Amazon Alexa which works!

Thanks for getting back to us. Let's try to turn on Visitor announcements in the Google Home app to see if that works. If not, I'd suggest reaching out to Lenovo support for additional assistance.

1. Open the Home app.
2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
3. In the top right, tap Settings > Doorbell.
4. Turn Visitor announcements on or off.
