Had nothing but issues with my doorbell since migration.
on the Nest app I could always sign in without logging in every single time on my phone and laptop.
now I have to verify everytime I log into the app by receiving a text message, then it doesn’t even log me in and asks to put the code in again on both laptop and iPhone.
It does work via the Google home app, but that is very poor compared to the Nest app.
It’s driving me mental especially since the doorbell shuts off when it gets pressed. ( chime turned off and it works) but what’s the point of a doorbell which does that? This is the final straw before I dump nest and go for Ring.

Hello everyone,
@SmoothHound1, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We recommend you to reinstall your Nest app. In case you have an Android phone, try signing in and check the difference. Doorbell press: Alexa announces when someone presses a Nest Doorbell (battery) or Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen). Some Alexa devices with a display also automatically stream live view from the doorbell.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

I don't know why you have to sign in each time. (I'm just another Google Nest customer.)
However, if your doorbell is shutting off whenever it gets pressed, your issue might be that the internal battery in your Nest Hello is failing. This causes the doorbell to go offline whenever the doorbell button is pressed. This has happened to all 3 of our Nest Hello doorbells, and to hundreds of other customers' doorbells; see this long post with over 1,000 replies: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto....
Since Google Nest says they "cannot" replace such doorbells if they're past the 1-year warranty, we're using the workaround of turning off the "Indoor chime" option on the doorbell. This means our indoor doorbell chime no longer rings, but our doorbells stay online even when the doorbell button is pressed. We instead turned on the "Visitor announcements" option (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451), to get doorbell announcements on our Nest Hubs and Nest Mini.
A few customers have tried prying open their doorbells to replace the indoor battery, but the doorbells are not really designed to be pried open:

Hey, thanks for taking your time to answer. You mentioned visitor announcements, are you using google home speakers? I have everything set up on Alexa, the option in google home app turned on and the Alexa skill for announcements also active, but Alexa doesn’t say anything when the doorbell is pressed. Maybe I need to thro it a third time, but can’t figure out why (yet) Alexa is quiet.

Ah just spotted you are using nest speakers. 😀

Ok thanks for the help everyone. As you confirmed it appears only doorbell announcements on Gen 2 for Alexa. I’ll be moving my doorbell and cameras over to Ring. Don’t want to get stung again.
regards.
