Gen 1 and 2 cameras under one net aware account

I recently purchased a Nest indoor/outdoor, battery camera and no matter what I try, I cannot get my two original Gen 1 cams, and new Gen 2 under that same account for nest aware.

I tried to add the Gen 2 but it sends me to the Google Home App. I tried removing one of my Gen 1 cams to install in Google home, but it says there is a pairing error and referred me to Nest app.

If I can't get this to work, I may return the Gen 2 and opt for something with local storage. Admittedly, the picture quality is lower than my original Nest cams and with only 3 hour history, it would not be worth it.

It is possible to have both 1st and 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells under the same Nest Aware subscription, using the Google Nest app for your 1st gen cameras and the Google Home app for your 2nd gen cameras, as long as you are using the same Google Account and the same Google Nest "home/structure" for all.  We've been doing that for almost 3 years now.  And if you upgrade to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Public-Preview-updates-Expanded-support-for-Nest-Doorbel...), then you can "transfer" your 1st gen cameras and doorbells from the Google Nest app to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.

We have not done so because that release is still in "Public Preview" status, and there are numerous Nest app features that are still not available in the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).

If I understand correctly, if I change the google account (they already share "My Home" the same home name) in the Nest App to match Google Home, that will allow me to re-sign up for Nest Aware under the new account in Nest and cover all Gen 1, and Gen 2 cameras?

For me, converting Nest App with only 2 cameras would be so much easier than reconfiguring 30 some devices, and many automations in Google Home.

@Jeskickin

I don't know what you mean by "change the google account in the Nest app to match Google Home".

Have you migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account (we did so in 2020) and are signing onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option with a Google Account?

If you have NOT (that is, if you are still logging onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Nest" option, then you will have to use the procedures described under "Google Account is already linked with another Nest account" on the page below to get your 1st gen cameras onto the same Google Account you are already using for your 2nd gen camera:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676?hl=en&sjid=12863660553458612351-NC#troubleshoot...

Then you'll need to cancel your 1st gen Nest Aware subscription (which I think you can access here: https://store.nest.com/account/subscriptions) and purchase a 2nd gen Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription (which have been available since 2019) that cover all cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure".

If this is not your situation, then I don't know where you are at. You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

I kept a separate Google account for Nest at the time of switch, because I didn't want to have to set the cameras up again. At that time they were not easily accessible for me (retired) to scan the camera stamped QR code. Who thought that was a good idea anyway?

Anyway, I think I finally got it. I cancelled Nest Aware, switched Nest to my default Google account, using the same home name's, and spent a lot of time tracking all the "Structure" to update and confirm. Then, I signed up for Nest Aware again under the new account. Now, I see all 3 cameras in Google Home, which I would imagine indicates my work was a success of having all 3 under Nest Aware.

Thank you..
