Whilst recorded video is limited to thirty frames per second (which is even less than live streaming) were the lens to use a global shutter this would certainly improve stills taken during fast paced events.
I checked the technical documentation but no information was forthcoming on the issue, does anybody know ?

I understand where you're coming from. However, we don't have any news to share about the global shutter feature. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.

Perhaps now, some eight posts into the thread, I get something like a human response, for the first time, but why ?
This is supposed to be a forum for help, not an advertising exercise. Google bought Nest and took their users with them, it was a successful product and with the backing a monied company like Google I myself gave the hardware a try.
However, support has been less than second rate.
You should have access to the folk that can give you answers. My query is very strait forwards, you should, if nominated to be a "Community Specialist" be given the ability to request such information.
That is my feedback and you can direct that to your superiors yourself.
