Goggle outdoor floodlight camera

This is a new floodlight camera setup.  That is wired to power full time and has been working for about two months till now.  Camera says offline with dead battery. But systems is wired and should not be offline form battery.  Why would this be offline when it is connected to power all the time.  How is this issue resolved and can i prevent this from happening again.  We have 5 goggle cameras around the outside of the house all wired and non of them are having this issue. All connected to the home network.  What is the fix and will I need an electrician to come back and work on system.

@30kazeem

Others in this forum have also reported this.

Is the USB connection seated snugly in the bottom of your camera? (There are reports in this forum about that being a problem, or of the plugs being defective.)

If your floodlight is on a switch, is the switch always on?

If you go to Settings | Battery, does it show as "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol?  (It should; that's how our battery camera--the same camera--has worked for the 22 months we've had it plugged in.)

Unfortunately I dont have a ladder to reach the light and actually check it.  It looks to be attached but i will have to reach out to the electrician to come out and look at it.   Very disappointed in the GNest product.   IF this is going to happen offten or to the orther 4 cameras around the house.  I should have gone with another one.

Hello 30kazeem,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your Nest Cam Floodlight. Let me help you out. After your electrician confirms that everything is good on the Nest Cam Floodlight, you can try to factory reset it.

Here is a link on how to do a factory reset. Let me know if that works.

I appreciate the help, @MplsCustomer

Thanks,
EdmondB
