Google Camera Debacle

I installed several NestCam IQ Outdoor several years ago and migrated the Nest account to Google as I thought that was the way to go. Huge Mistake #1.

Up until recently I could view my camera history using a browser on my PC and extract clips as necessary as that was easier than trying to search through the camera footage on the Nest App on my mobile.

I wanted to search history today using my PC and all I can access is some Preview of Google Home that does not provide history, just a live feed. That is just unacceptable, I pay Google for Nest Aware but it is unusable on a PC.

To compound matters, the Google Home app on my mobile is unusable in terms of trying to view history with video clips, as was possible on the Nest app. Added to that, the Nest app is ok if you know roughly where you want to look but no good for fast scanning data video history, as used to be possible,

My Huge Mistake #2 a while ago was adding two Google Battery Cams which can only be installed using the Home app and hence are of zero use when trying to search for an historical event. Add to that the dumb design that does not allow a time on/time off as the Nest app does, so the Battery Cam in a moderately high traffic area needs charging every week.

There was a time when Google was supposed to be the most inventive Tech company in the world. No longer, the product and support is 3rd rate at best. Truly terrible.

Google needs to stop promising that better is on the way and actually deliver a customer service.

You can still view history for your Outdoor Nest IQ Cameras in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com on your PC.

I share your concerns about accessing history in the Google Home app for the newer battery cameras.
