Google Flood Lamp goes and stays offline and lights stop working

hi there,

I have a Google flood lamp and camera that is wired. The flood lamp keeps going offline and staying offline whereas the camera stays on and works fine. I’ve done a reset and a factory reset, and the lamp will work for a bit and then go offline again. I have also updated the Google home app.

am I missing anything to trouble shoot this issue?

Hi Frejsa,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Camera with floodlight is offline and the lights are not working as expected. I understand that you already followed some basic troubleshooting steps, like restarting and resetting the devices.

Power Supply:

  • Check Wiring: Ensure the camera is securely connected to the power source.
  • Transformer: Verify the transformer is functioning correctly.
  • Circuit Breaker: Check if the circuit breaker has tripped.

Camera Hardware:

  • Inspect for Damage: Check for any visible damage to the camera or its components (like cables or adapters).

Verify Wi-Fi Network Connection:

  • Other Devices: Check if other Wi-Fi devices in your home are connected and functioning normally. If not, the issue might lie with your Wi-Fi network itself.
  • Signal Strength: Ensure your Nest Doorbell is receiving a strong Wi-Fi signal. If it's far from your router, consider:
    • Moving it closer: A stronger signal can improve connection stability.
    • Using a Wi-Fi extender: If relocating isn't feasible, an extender can boost the signal in that area.

Reset the camera:

  • Ensure the cameras are fully charged or connected to power.
  • Even if you tried it already, please make sure to Perform a factory reset as established on the help center based on the model of your devices.

Follow the steps from this guide to Fix Nest camera or doorbell Wi-Fi connection issues, to Change floodlight settings and to Troubleshoot Nest camera and doorbell setup messages (even if there is no specific error).

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Mario
