Have the Home Outside for 30 hours and struggling with getting some simple questions answered.

1st the Link to follow and click on seems to be going to the Doorbell Details or Issues Topic onstead of Nest Outdoor Cam.

That just adds to my growing list of questions.

1. Are there simple Users allowed that cannot make modifications?

2. Is there a Log List of every action done according to time frame and Manager Users?

3. If one Manager Uzer Deletes a Video or Capture of any type will it be Deleted on that Device only?

4 I want to know who turned the Camera off after 1:08 am June 1st 2024. How do I find that?

5 My Salesman said I would get a minimum of 2 Free Cameras why did the Installer only put in one?

6. How am I suppise to have any faith in ADT when everything is so sloppily handled and in error and written up so crappy here?

The Salesman makes commitements and says the Pre_Installer will go through all your needs and get you set up with what your home will work best with according to Agreement. The Pre_Installer says he cant answer that and to ask the Installer. The Installer says he is only there to Install and cannot answer the questions he is just told to install one camera and no doorbell security.

I give it a fair rating because it seems to be able to work for us but would be so much better if I had recieved as planned. Additionally I am hoping for more control and a basic Log Sheet.

This is not cheap at all. I asked from the start for cost to be kept minimal. The only thing mimimal was the product aa a whole being complete. I feel very gouged or conned.

I have used many security systems. All this system is is 3 door activated by movement magnets which run 10.9o to 19.99 amd you own between 3 to 5 or more of them and 1 camera that costs about 19.99 to 69.99 and you own it,  that stands still and does not follow a target nor does it identify what it actually sees. It works for me now only because of the built in alarms. But is not a steady stream of video. It takes a pic every 6 feet or couple seconds. They do install them and give you a light training. The only constant feed or video you get is live mode which is not recorded. Only when it pocks up an image does it record it. But can i trust the cam to pick up everything? I have to hope it does when i have no confidence in what they are like renting me for the rediculous amount for toys.

This deal will have to go if there is no Logging Details made available so I can monitor who or how the camera turns on or off. In Safe or ?Out or Away Mode.

More then 70 bucks a month with sevral promises so far unmet.

Jonathan was a great Installer.

Hi @gooshimin,

First I would like to thank you for posting on our community page, on the other hand I apologize for the inconvenience that you are having. Let me tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the problem.

I understand your frustration with the confusion and missing features you're experiencing with your new ADT Home Security system. Here's what I can share based on typical ADT functionalities and how to address your concerns:

1. User Permissions and Log List:

  • Limited User Access: ADT systems typically allow multiple users with varying permission levels. There can be a master user (often the account holder) with full control and standard users with limited access. Standard users might not be able to modify settings or recordings.
  • Audit Logs (Availability Varies): Some ADT systems offer audit logs that track user activity. These logs might show actions like logins, system changes, or deletions (including username, timestamp, etc.). However, the availability and detail level of these logs depend on your specific system and plan.

Unfortunately, there's no publicly available information about a universal log list for all ADT systems. It's best to contact ADT customer support to confirm if your plan includes audit logs and how to access them.

2. Video Deletion and Scope:

  • Device-Specific Deletion: When a user with permission deletes a video clip, it typically only removes it from the device they're using (phone, tablet). The recording might still be stored on the ADT cloud or other user devices with access.

3. Camera Turning Off (Finding the Culprit):

  • Limited Information: Without access to detailed audit logs (if available), it might be difficult to pinpoint exactly who turned off the camera at 1:08 am on June 1st.
  • Contact ADT Support: Your best option is to contact ADT customer support and explain the situation. They might have access to more information or be able to investigate further.

4. Missing Cameras and Sales Misrepresentation:

  • Contract Review: It sounds like there might have been a miscommunication between the salesperson and the installation team. Review your signed ADT contract to see what it specifies about the number of cameras included.
  • Contact ADT Sales: Contact your ADT salesperson or customer service to address the discrepancy between the promised two cameras and the single camera installation. They should be able to clarify the situation and rectify it if there was a genuine error.

5. General System Concerns and Cost:

  • Understanding the System: It's important to understand that ADT offers various security packages with different features and equipment. The system you received might prioritize certain aspects (like door and motion detection) over continuous video recording.
  • Alternatives: If the current system doesn't meet your needs and expectations, you can explore alternative security options that might better suit your budget and desired features. Consider factors like continuous video recording, self-monitoring options (with your own equipment), and user permissions before making a decision.

Here are some additional tips:

  • ADT Customer Support: Contact ADT customer support to clarify user permissions, log availability, and address the missing camera issue. Be specific about your concerns and reference your contract details.
  • Research Alternative Systems: If you're not satisfied with ADT, research alternative security systems that offer features more aligned with your needs (like continuous video recording and detailed logs).
  • Security System Options: There are various home security options available, including self-monitored systems with your own equipment and professionally monitored systems with varying feature sets. Consider your budget, desired features, and technical expertise when making a choice.

I hope this information helps! It's understandable to be frustrated with the initial experience, and hopefully, by contacting ADT and exploring your options, you can find a security solution that works best for you.

Regards,

Mario.
