Google Nest Cam Does Not Work with Nest

StanW

I set up my new Google Nest Cam with floodlight to go along with my six other nest cameras, nest thermostats, and nest alarm system. I was beyond confused when this product with “nest” in its name does not work with nest. It only works with the Google Home app which is not intuitive and does not have access to the alarm system. Very trusting to have multiple apps for “nest” products. Please support the nest app with new products.

Unfortunately any of the cameras released in 2021 do not have support for the Nest app. They will only work with the Google Home app. The launch of the new devices has been extremely confusing and frustrating for users and there are no plans to make the newer cameras compatible with the Nest app.

Sorry, yes, Google is the worst at marketing.

Naming products NEST but not making them compatible with the NEST app.

Thank goodness the cameras are good or else it would be a complete waste.

You have to use the GOOGLE HOME app, there you can view all your NEST cams.

FYI, the new NEST cams don't have the same features as the old ones, like being able to extract any clip you want at any time. Google only lets you extract clips that they want you to. RIDICULOUS design work here.
