I've recently (4 days ago) purchased a Google Nest Outdoor (battery) camera. It was super simple to setup, i thought. I mounted it and setup the detections zones and walked around my yard triggering recording etc. Then noticed the next day all the video history was gone. I thought maybe after i added my wife to the account it must have somehow reset, but then again the next day i wake up and again "No recorded events" shows in my history feed... Now ive done some investigation and see that apparently if you dont have a Aware subscrition you cant keep videos longer than 3hrs ago. Dumb, but i get it, its cloud based so you gotta pay for storage. OK. But im on a free trial with 27 days to go.. where is my event history disappearing to>?/?? I was skeptical about cloud based services in the first place, ive got a strong feeling this thing is going onto FB marketplace and ill put in Unifi Protect.

Hi, thanks for both your replies. I had responded via email but I guess it didn’t come though for whatever reason. I had skipped the facial recognition portion of the near aware during setup and couldn’t get it to record anything more than 3hrs worth. I went back and allowed the facial recognition and now it works. I had privacy concerns over the data collected for the facial recognition so opted out but it seems it’s mandatory to correct functionality. It is a simple easy to use product for sure but it’s not for me.
