I recently installed a Google Nest doorbell (Battery). In the Home app, on the first few days, it showed brief video clip history of when people came to the door or dropped a package. It now deletes them within only a couple of hours. Is there a fix to this? Does not make sense, as what is the point of the product, then? Thank you!

It sounds like you probably enrolled in the 30-day free trial Nest Aware subscription that comes with each camera and doorbell, and it has now expired, so you are getting just event video history for the most recent 3 hours.
Here are a couple of Help topics on Nest Aware. There's a link in the first topic for subscribing to Nest Aware.

We have several Google Nest cameras and doorbells, and have subscribed to "Nest Aware Plus" since 2020.

Thank you for your answer. I don't remember enrolling in anything, and we only got any history for maybe a couple of days and then it all deleted itself. That was confusing, but makes sense based on your reply. Unfortunately, when I purchased the device, it seemed like there was a limited amount of recording that was automatic with the device that would save for at least a week, but I may have been given wrong information. This is disappointing and a cash grab, it would seem reasonable to pay for storage of a lot of video. But to gate-keep with a paid subscription and only give 3 HOURS for people who simply purchased the device is pretty lame! LOL. Half the time I never see the alerted video. Thanks.

I think video for the last 3 hours is stored locally on the camera, so it's limited by what the camera can store.

OK, that makes sense, though I thought that it would be possible for the phone to save the video in the app as well. Noting that they make it very difficult to download the videos, if not impossible, it's clear that it's a gate-keep feature to not allow saving on the device, so as to have to purchase the service. Thanks!
