Google Nest Doorbell won’t factory reset.

Yesterday my Google Nest doorbell stopped working. It did not show any signs of live. And it showed in the Google Home app as ‘Doorbell offline’. Followed instructions on reboot holding the pin for 5 seconds. After that the doorbell rebooted.

After reboot light it still was not working properly and tried a factory reset holding the reset pin for 12 seconds. It wil just simply reboot without doing a factory reset. It does not seem to work.

I searched other topics and it seems that there are many others on the forum that report similar issues. Has there been a solution so far?

@Dylan20

So, do you get any of the responses Google Nest says SHOULD occur during a factory reset? Such as the status light blinking yellow 4 times at 10 seconds, along with a countdown tone?

If not, is it at all possible that the paper clip or whatever you're using for the reset isn't fully depressing the reset pin? I'm asking only because pressing reset pins can sometimes be problematic, and other users have reported it can be tricky to trigger a factory reset.

I am having the same issue. Deleted the cam from the hipness app and depressing the reset button for 10plus seconds keeps going back directly to a green light and is not discoverable. I’ve tried different objects to depress the button on the back and every time the same result. The light goes out, the light goes to solid white, then the device light turns green. Super frustrating. Help!

Note home app. Not hippiness. Spell checker shenanigans

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad
