How do you get the camera to correctly record an event from start to finish? The camera does not record events consistently. For example, a Vehicle event will be recorded, and the event recording starts with the vehicle in the center of the Activity Zone and ends with the vehicle in the Activity Zone. When in reality, the vehicle entered from the left of the Activity Zone and exited to the right of the Activity Zone. This also happens with people.
Thanks.

We haven't had this issue with our 2nd gen indoor camera, but you could try going to Settings | Video and setting "Wake-up sensitivity" to high.

Thank you for your help. I don't see that as an option.

Sorry, I should have specified that you first need to select your camera in the Google Home app, and then click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and then select Settings, and then select Video.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I do not see anything related to "Wakre-Up Sensitivity" under Settings\Video.

I was looking at the settings on our battery camera. When I looked at our indoor camera's settings, I discovered, as you did, that that version of the camera does NOT have a "Wake-up sensitivity" option.
My apologies!

My camera is a Gen 2.

You have to set the battery options for each camera to "More recording" to get longer event videos. They default to the "Balanced" setting, which shortens the video capture time.

I have a wired Indoor camera.

Is your 2nd gen indoor camera positioned inside behind a window to detect events (like "Vehicles") occurring outside? If so, PERHAPS that could affect the camera's ability to detect (and record) an event.
Our 2nd gen indoor camera seems to capture full events when I check, but ours is viewing objects only indoor (and we have a Nest Aware Plus subscription).

Yes. It detects events at the far end of this parking lot. I've experienced events that happen in the foreground to be disappointed by the recording starting too late or terminating too early.

I don't know the technology used by Google Nest cameras and whether their event detection is affected by operating behind a window. Just wondering.
Maybe another customer (or a Google Nest Community Specialist) reading this will know and can comment.
