Google Nest Hello first generation issues

MissBarbara

I bought the 1st generation Google Nest doorbell second hand.  When I installed it it worked fine.  Then I tried to pair it with my Amazon Echo Show which I later found out is NOT compatible. (I have no window to see out so I was trying to have the video feed pop up on the echo show.  Now I have to look at my iPad or phone to see who is at the door.)  So I removed all links between Google and Amazon.  I was getting motion notifications fine but I discovered that when someone rang the doorbell it didn’t ring nor did I get notifications.  So I did a soft reset to the doorbell and everything worked fine except the indoor chime.  I discovered that the indoor chime was set to off and when I turned it on I was back to the way it was…motion notifications only.  How do I fix this?  I looked through multiple posts and haven’t seen this problem.  I haven’t tried a hard reset as setting the doorbell up requires going to a second property where I have a second doorbell which is a major pain in the butt.

Since some aspects of your problem are a bit hard to follow, maybe you'd have better luck contacting Support, where you can walk through the specifics of your situation:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
