Google Nest Indoor/Outdoor Battery camera records non-stop.

I bought a 2-pack of these in November 2021. One of the cameras batteries started dying really quickly. I reset the camera and it still does it. I reset it a second time last night, charged it and mounted it. I stood out of view and watched it in the dark. The green record light and infrared lights come on for about 10-15 seconds, shut off and immediately come back on. This happened for 30 minutes straight so I just turned it off in the Home app. Any ideas on how to fix? Or is it just done.

Sounds like it's picking up motion or something acting like that.

No motion going on at all. I don't get a notification of motion until I walk out in front of it. While it's coming on/off there are no notifications, no recorded events

I had one on my back verandah. When I'd hang clothes out on the clothesline it would use 20% of the battery in 12- 24 hours doing what you're saying yours does. It also would not send any notifications or upload events.  I figure it was waking up but the AI was picking up it wasnt a human animal or car etc and not registering an event... I'm not saying its your issue it could be something else just sharing what happened with mine thats all. I know how frustrating these things can be trying to identify bugs and faults etc...

This is pointed at my vehicles in my driveway. The road and or traffic is not visible, it's a long driveway. What weird is I've had this camera in place for 18 months and never had this issue.

This is not how our battery camera (plugged in with the optional power cable) behaves.

Sounds weird and super frustrating.... Sometimes when i turn mine on from being off it will pick up a stationary car if in view and send a notification but that's usually only once. It wont keep waking up  etc. By your explanation your camera keeps waking up for some reason.... Sorry i cant be of more help.... In the camera box i found a little booklet with a direct number to Google home customer help on it. When i ring the number i just ask for cameras and they put me through to camera experts. They have been helpful on the rare occasion...
