Why is the shortest cable available a pretty long 16 feet?  When you have an outlet nearby that you can plug the camera cable into, the extra 14 feet or more, is wasted and becomes a challenge to stow away neatly.  

My other question is, do the 10 and 20 meter cables still enable the Nest Cam (battery) to achieve 1080p output?

I'm just another Google Nest customer and cannot answer why they don't have shorter options.

The weatherproof power cables for the battery camera come in 5 meter and 10 meter lengths. We've been using the 10 meter power cable with our battery camera since Sept. 2021 and have not had any issues (except that it works only in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app).

Regarding your second question, the length of the cable should not directly impact the video output resolution of the Nest Cam (battery). The video resolution is determined by the camera itself and its internal specifications, rather than the length of the cable used to power it. As long as the camera is properly connected to a power source using the appropriate cable, it should be capable of achieving its specified video resolution, such as 1080p.
