Google doorbell battery & iphone

Just installed a new Google Neat battery doorbell. How do I get an audio notification on my iPhone when someone rings the bell? Currently all I get is a silent text notification which means if I’m not looking at my phone I miss it. All my notifications are turned on in both Google Home and iPhone settings. Help!

Your notifications should only be silent if, on your iPhone, under Settings | Notifications | Google Home, you have "Sounds" turned off. Otherwise, the volume of the notification depends on your phone's volume settings. At least, that's how it works for us for our 2 newer cameras that work in the Google Home app.

Under settings / notifications / Google Home everything is turned ‘on’, including sounds and announce notifications. Also spent time with Apple Support just to make sure all my iPhone settings were OK. Still no sound from the doorbell. Also in the Google Home app, general / doorbell / visitor announcements is ‘on’. This is ridiculous, shouldn’t be this difficult.

Perhaps you could try deleting and reinstalling your Google Home app. Some time ago I quit getting all doorbell notifications on my iPhone; simply deleting and reinstalling the app fixed it.
