Google nest camera not showing video with FIOS 1gb router

I had my 3 Nest outdoor cameras installed and working with FIOS 300mg connection last year, changed to Astound , factory reset and reconfigured and worked again. Then I moved back to FIOS but with a 1 GB connection and new router and I was able to factory reset the cameras, go through configuration steps and complete installation. But the cameras appear offline. I have read other posts and tried disabling FIOS Self organizing network (SON) (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Protect/Google-Nest-Devices-on-a-Verizon-FiOS-Network/m-... ) . But still having the same issue. Any other suggestions? Thanks,

Hi SDSD,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry that your 3 Nest Outdoor Cameras got offline after changing Wi-Fi settings and the router. I understand how frustrating this can be. I’m here to help.

Before I begin. I need to ask a few questions for further assistance:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Are you getting any error messages?
  • How far is the camera from the router?
  • Do you have other Nest devices in the house?
  • Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Please keep me posted. I’ll look forward to your response.

Hi Byron,

  • When did the issue start? It started when changing the internet provider and router.
  • Are you getting any error messages? No errors, the app allow me to go over all the steps for configuration of the new camera, it shows as completed but when trying to see the image the camera appear offline. When checking on the FIOS app I see the cameras connected.
  • How far is the camera from the router? I tried in different locations, even next to the router
  • Do you have other Nest devices in the house? No
  • Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected? Yes, all the house devices
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera? no
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds? no
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

HI SDSD,

Thank you for posting.

I need to ask a few additional questions:

  • What is the status LED light of the Nest Outdoor Cameras?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • Has the camera ever successfully connected to this network?
  • Did you recently make any changes to your router?
  • Did you recently make any changes to your network or password?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron
