Hello!
I am having issues with my Google nest doorbell. No problem setting up—smooth sailing! Current issue is doorbell is not chiming inside the home on the mechanical chime doorbell. Follow the directions to a T. Mechanical chime does work on previous doorbell. When I go on the Google app to try to turn on indoor chime it is grayed out.
is there an additional item I need to purchase to get it to chime in the home? Can I use my existing mechanical chime? Please help there’s a driving me mad.

Hi @Mltjones84!
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell (battery) isn't chiming your mechanical chime inside the home and that the indoor chime setting is grayed out in the app. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!
The Nest Doorbell (battery) model is not compatible with mechanical chimes. To receive an audible alert inside your home when someone rings your Nest Doorbell (battery), we recommend getting a Google Nest speaker or display.
These devices act as an alternative chime, verbally announcing "Someone is at the front door" (or the person's name if you have familiar face recognition set up) when your doorbell is pressed.
Here's an article where you can find information about our Google Nest speakers and displays: Google Nest devices.
If you have any additional questions or need help, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Best regards,
Geremi
