I just received my Google nest doorbell (battery). I didn’t realise that it only came with the usb cord and not a power adapter so need to buy one. Does it matter what you buy? I saw on the Google site there’s a 30w usb-c power charger for $45. Would this be best to charge the doorbell or are there other suggestions?

The Google Nest Camera (Battery) is SUPPOSED to be packaged with a power adapter that connects to the USB charging cord:

Hi. The adapter comes with the cam but it doesn't look like it comes with the doorbell which I have.

My apologies for being an idiot and giving you information about the battery camera (which we have) instead of about the battery doorbell (which you clearly stated you have).
I double-checked what comes with the battery doorbell, and I see it indeed does NOT come with an adapter. That's astonishing!
This page on the Google Store even says:
"Nest Doorbell (battery)
Typical: It takes approximately five hours to fully charge the battery using a compatible 7.5W AC adapter (sold separately)."
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611
But I couldn't find it on the Google Store, after searching extensively! Apparently Google Nest doesn't sell a 7.5W adapter for either the battery doorbell or the battery camera. They sell a replacement charge cord for the battery camera, but no 7.5 adapter, even though they say it is "sold separately".

No problem. Thanks for that info. I admit I didn't investigate it before purchasing but just assumed that it would come with the power adapter. It's disappointing it doesn't. I don't know much about chargers but wonder if it's better for me to get this 30w one than the 7.5 one mentioned https://store.google.com/au/product/usb_c_30w_charger?hl=en-GB&pli=1

Hey Louise-J,
Have you reached out to support directly and contacted them? There seems to be a bit of confusion on this and they can take a look at your specific setup and situation and let you know exactly what is needed. You can reach them here: https://goo.gle/31i1U5t. I would suggest choosing chat or phone to get the fastest answer. Feel free to update things here if you're still unable to get an answer.
Thanks,
Jeff

The problem is that Google Nest does NOT include a 7.5W AC adapter with the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery), AND Google Nest does NOT sell a 7.5W AC adapter, even though the battery doorbell web page says it is "sold separately".

Hi Jeff. I haven’t done that but will do so. Thanks!

Why doesn't Google Nest address the fact that it does NOT provide a battery charger with the battery doorbell, AND does NOT sell one, even though the Google Store's listing for the battery doorbell says the battery charger is "sold separately"?

I don’t know. Google Nest should really answer that.
