I've taken our doorbell off to charge it and the small button on the back that prevents the doorbell being removed without using the tool is now stuck in the in position, meaning the doorbell can't be remounted as it isn't secure on the mount.

not sure what to do. Anyone know how to unstuck it ?

I have seen posts from some customers in this forum who have tried using a tiny amount of WD-40 on the latching mechanism to get their battery doorbell to latch.  Others have been unable to get them to continue latching.  You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
