Green LED random blinking

My doorbell battery drains very quickly even on the most conservative settings (one day).  Installed a power supply to keep it charging (verified all power requirements) and it's only marginally better (two days).  Green LED is on solid, but blinks about every 7-12 seconds.  I've been having this issue since day-one nearly a month ago.  Everything works fine; I get notifications, recognizes people and packages, etc.  Attempted to reset the doorbell and no improvement.  Any advice?

Hello DingleMonkey,

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Let me help you out. Just a few questions: After you reset your Nest Doorbell, what is the status of the LED light? Have you tried doing a factory reset on your Nest doorbell? Here is a link on how to restart or factory reset your Nest camera or doorbell.

I look forward to your response.

Best,

Edmond

I did the factory reset and still have the same problem.

After the factory reset, I installed without the power and the battery lasted about a day.  I tried it again and installed with the power supply with nearly the same results.
