Indoor Nestcamera flashing red and cannot factory data reset

I have a indoor nest cam and it is flashing red for the past few months. Please note I have been using this device for the past few years (3+ years) without any issue. 

I tried to do a factory reset by pressing the factory reset button in the bottom of the base. Reset is not inititated and its still flashing red.

Please let me know on how to fix this issue

Hi subhaselvi,

 

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to know more about it. A few questions: 

 

  • Were there changes made with the setup, settings, and or/app of the Nest camera?
  • Is the camera paired to a Nest Account?
  • Are you using the USB cable and adapter that shipped with the camera?
  • Is the end of the cable plugged into the camera?
    • Check if the logo is visible on the USB connector when viewing the back of the camera. The visible logo indicates the USB connector is inserted correctly.
  • Is the cable fully and securely plugged in to both the camera and the adapter?
  • Have you tried using an alternative cable, plug, and socket? If so, what was the result?
  • Are there any kinks or frays in the cable?

 

Please check the status of the Nest service. Occasionally, when the Nest service is down, it can show that the camera is offline. Also, make sure that you have the latest version of the app.
