Hi, I am replacing my old Nest doorbell with the new Google Nest Doorbell. I can’t reach the top of the doorbell to screw it into the plate as I have vinyl siding so the key needs to be extremely small so I can fit it between the top of the doorbell and the bottom of the vinyl siding that’s above it. With the older Nest you just locked it in place and used a key to take it off (hole on the bottom). Any thoughts? I don’t know if they sell super small keys so I can lock it onto the plate. Thanks.

Perhaps you could use a vertical wedge like the one on Etsy below. We used a similar wedge with one of our 1st gen Nest Hello Doorbells to get a more vertical orientation against our siding.

Hi everyone,
@tron882x, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, were you able to get the vertical wedge that MplsCustomer has shared? You may take a photo of your actual Nest Doorbell with the vinyl so that we can take a better look and check options here. In case you have an update, you know where to find us.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
Regards,
Emerson

Hi Emerson! I haven't received the wedge yet but once I do I'll post a photo when it's installed. Do you want me to post the photo to this thread? Thanks much.

Google Nest turned off the "Insert Image" option in this forum after clearing out the hundreds of gambling posts that came from Indonesia or Malaysia several days ago, most of them with flashing images.

Hi everyone,
I appreciate the input, @MplsCustomer, Emerson, and Edmond.
@tron882x, we made some changes to mitigate an ongoing spam attack in the Google Nest Community forum. These changes inadvertently caused issues with image posting, but it should be fixed now. You may now try sharing a photo with us.
Kind regards,
Jenelyn
