Can't add New Nest Camera as it is showing up as a WiFi devices

I am trying to add my new Nest Camera to my GHA. I have tried search for new device, scanning the QR code, and manually entering the serial number under the bottom plate. It only shows up as a WiFi device. I do not have a Google WiFi device. Any help?

When you say you entered the "serial number", do you mean you entered the 6-character alphanumeric Setup Code that is printed near the QR code on the camera?

If you have, then perhaps Google Nest assigned an INCORRECT QR code and Setup Code to your camera. I've seen just a couple of other posts like this in this forum. You could contact Support using the link and instructions in this post:

(I edited my reply to insert the missing word "INCORRECT".  It certainly seems like something is wrong on your camera causing it to be recognized as a Wi-Fi Point instead.)

@JulieH, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, which Nest Camera do you have? What is the light status of your Nest Camera? Do you see any error messages? Do you have other Nest devices on your Google Home app? Try restarting your Nest Camera and reinstall your Google Home app.

Hi,

I just purchased the indoor wired Nest camera. The status light is blue and it makes the Google chiming noise when I plug it in. I have other devices in my app including a display, Tablet, and two offline devices (Chromecast and mini). I have restarted the GHA and the camera. My path: GHA app/devices/ +device/ New device, it finds wifi, asks if I want to set it up, I say set up different devices/ camera/Nest Cam, indoor wired 2nd gen/ I scan the QR code and it says "Google Wifi found, Would you like to set up this device?"

Thanks for all the information. We want to check if you are still going to have the prompt for the Google WiFi device by creating a new home structure and connecting your Nest camera to the new home.
