Hey Google do ur job! Doorbell wired 2nd gen set-up process crashes mid install without error m

Hey G,

New Doorbell direct out of the box installed at my door. Trying to connect to my Google Home app (iOS) but App cannot find the device even though blue light pulsing and QR code recognised (and two other Google Outdoor cameras connected prior and after this ordeal without a problem eg i'm not a complete nob).
Fine might be a power or network coverage issue at my door so deinstalled doorbell and connect it with a USB cable to my computer. Still no luck being recognised in Google Home App 🤔.
Then did a reset of the doorbell, checked the Google Home App to insure i have the latest version, power cycled my phone, switched off/on wifi and bluetooth etc.  Still no luck and getting rather irritated with the thought i need to type all this up... 😣
So here the painful step by step process getting nowhere:
1) Auto detection failed (fine happened with most of my google devices even though someone could have done a better job here...)

2) QR code detected and got a tick👌 (note rather impressive even from this camera angle)!

3) App goes directly back to the start of device set-up page 😩

4) ok might be an issue with the QR code so using the old fashion code and type it in manually...

5) CHAMPAGNE 🍾!!! big relieve it recognized something. Oh wait, that is the image of the 1st gen doorbell (not the second gen i have fun with). Hmmm some more at big G could do a better job 🤔

6) Now the real nail biting begins... "this could take time i will never get back..." 🕰

7) Oh well Google, u wasted my entire eve...

For everyone, it turns out as i got redirected into the EU google store, i bought by mistake a Doorbell wired 1st gen.  1st gen doorbell needs to be set up on the old Nest app. Unfortunately, Google Home app does not give u any hint that u need to use the old app (not even mentioning back-portability).
Disappointing job by the Nest team! Guess that shows why you r still behind the rest of the market...
