I've been using the Home app on my phone at my house to stream a feed from a nest camera on the same network. It starts streaming using Wifi, but will randomly switch to mobile data, cheweing though my plan data. It does this despite installing a local firewall in an attempt to block Home from using mobile data.
Can Home be configured to not use mobile data?
Can you figure out why it's switching in the first place? No other apps on my phone exhibit this behaviour while on my network.
Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
@Peerden, just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, we would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let us know.
I appreciate the help, Brad.
