I loved the way the Nest app displayed all my cameras and were always on and I could create and store clips. I have yet to figure out how to do that on the google home app. It is a confusing mess. I still have some cameras on the Nest app primarily because I am afraid to transition to google because it seems to lack much capability and is bizarrely confusing. The outdoor battery camera I have on google only seems to wake up occasionally when there is some motion or I deliberately hit the live video button. Any help is appreciated.

The Google Home app does NOT have the same camera functionality as the Google Nest app, and you cannot see any history or manage notifications for the older cameras and doorbells that are installed in the Google Nest app.

Are they going to fix this or implement history/video recording before they turn off Nest App? One of the main reasons to have camera is to see history like an attempted break-in in middle of night.

Google Nest hasn't shared anything about its direction since this Sept. 29 2021 post by the GM/VM, which said:
"we are committed to bringing the experiences and Nest devices you have come to love in the Nest app into the Home app"

No way to do it at all the home app is not up to scratch never has been and by the looks of this site never will be.

Hey everyone,
In the transition from the Nest App to the Home app, there have definitely been some feature differences. Over time the Home app is being updated to include more functionality, but as you can see it's not quite where it will ultimately be to manage the Nest devices. What I can do is pass your comments along to our internal teams in the form of a feature request. You can also leave your own feedback in the Home app. I realize that doesn't resolve much in the short term, but our teams do take these comments into account and all the feedback does help steer design and development decisions. Aside from passing that feature request along, let me know if there's anything else I can do here.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff for response. As a Product Manager myself, I can appreciate the importance of customer feedback to help inform future features being considered for release and prioritization. With that in mind, providing you more context on how I was trying to utilize the web app.
As I mentioned, my neighbors alerted me to an attempted car break-in in their driveway in the middle of the night and asked if my outdoor security camera had picked anything up. While I could see in the Home App that the attempt was done not only on our car parked in driveway, but later in their driveway, the view is less than ideal on phone or even Ipad with Home App. Then when trying to view my recording on desktop monitor, I realized that history was not an option so I could neither view the recording snapshot that I had captured in the Nest App.
Having history viewing is great feature if working back in office and wanting to check back in time to an alert or callout that something to look into the past and mobile doesn't provide the ideal views.
Thanks.

Hey BillD33,
Your situation definitely adds context to why you need the added functionality. I'll make sure the context is shared with the feedback.
Thanks,
Jeff
