Saw somewhere when I have an option to turn off camera when I have a painter or gardener in view?

If you are using the NEST app then you go to the camera and click on the GEAR icon and in the upper corner there is a switch to turn it on/off. I'm not sure how you do it in the Google Home app but I'm guessing it is the same procedure.
However there is another feature that you might prefer as you could easily forget to turn the camera back on if you turn it off. If you are on an iPhone when you get the alert you can left-swipe and you will see (2) options. You can mute the alerts for 1 hour or 1 day. The benefit is the camera keeps recording but you just don't get the alerts.
Hope this helps.

I'm using the Home app, after poking around on it I simply tapped on the gear menu and turned off push notifications. Just have to remember to turn it back on 😉
