How do you set up a door code for someone who will have limited access?

I can't figure this out in the Google Home App. It used to be so easy in the Nest app. I tried to set up a new dog walker for limited access in the Nest app and I only get an error.  I don't want to give them full access to my account. Please help.

You still use the nest app to setup codes for guests. Only family members are setup in the Google Home app

OK- That seems to make sense. In the Nest app, when I go to add a guest I get the error: "Guest - Something went wrong, Please try that again."  I've read on other forums that people have been having this error for months. Do you have a solution for this?

My apologies @AnnabelleB, I thought I responded to this last week but I must have not pressed the reply button. I did try to add a guest code using the Nest app and it worked for me. I do notice however that you are using the IOS app while I'm using the Android app but I don't know if that makes a difference or not and I don't have access to an IOS device to try it.

Anyway here are the steps that I took to add the guest code via the Android Nest app.

. Open Nest app and select the lock

. On the lock screen, Click Family & Guests on the lower left.

. In the section under "HOME ENTRY ONLY", select "Add a guest"

. Enter the name for the guest and select "Continue"

. To give out the code using any method other than email, Select the eye symbol next to the passcode to show it, record the number to give to your guest and then select "Done"

. To give out the passcode via email, select "Send info", enter email address and select "Send"

Is it possible that you had/have the old Nest Secure system? I've heard that those that had their locks setup with Nest Secure are having the same issue that you are having. If so this link may help

Also take a look at the 2nd last post in this link, this person solved the same problem by factory resetting the Nest connect then re-adding it and the lock back into the Nest app.
