How to export video (not event)

I have a Google Nest cam (battery) with a cable attached such that it records 24/7. I have the Nest Aware Plus subscription such that I have 60 days (events) and 10 days 24/7 recording.

This morning an incident occurred just outside of camera view. The cameras still picked up the sound however and the Police would like the footage. However there doesn't appear to be a clear way of exporting the video history I'm after. As expected, it is not an 'event', as the cameras didn't detect people etc, but surely there's a way of exporting a small slice of history. I've followed the instructions after searching for a result, but most of the results seem to apply to an older/different version of the Home app, so there is no download/export button that most of the posts refer to. See screenshot below. There is no option in any of the obvious buttons (i.e. the settings icon, ellipsis buttons up top etc).

Sadly there is no way to do that currently in the Google Home app.  However, as a workaround, you can put your phone into record mode and then play the clip manually and then go back and stop the phone from recording. If you need to know the steps reply here.  However, I only know how on an iPhone.

I would also like to know since it's not possible when this will be resolved. It seems as the new cameras and Google home app has decreased the use ability and dramatically lessened the effectiveness of the cameras......

 

What happened if there was a crime on the camera but an event wasn't created?
