I recently moved and, being the idiot that I am, completely forgot to take my two chime connectors out of my old doorbell chime box. I have reached out to the new owner multiple times (as has my realtor to their realtor) to see if there's a time I could come by to grab those but haven't gotten a response yet. I'm really hoping to avoid buying connectors off of ebay for $40-50 each, if I can even find them.
I hooked up just the front door Hello initially and it seemed to work fine. When I went to do the back one I lost one of the terminal screws. While I waited for replacement screws from Amazon I started getting a buzzing from the chime and phantom doorbell rings, so I just turned off the circuit for the time being, but that's obviously not a long-term solution. Now with replacement screws and both connected I'm still getting the buzzing, which is what lead me to create this post.
In talking about it with my fiancée, we realized that we don't really care if the actual chime goes off when someone rings the doorbell since we have multiple Google Homes/Home Minis throughout the house (and the chime drives my dog crazy anyway, so another good reason to bypass it). Is there an easy way to just bypass the chime completely that will allow me to not need the chime connectors? I'm thinking some combination(s) of wires might be able to be wire-nutted together without connecting to the chime's terminals to give constant power to the doorbells while completely bypassing the chimes themselves. I took a picture of my two chimes (one upstairs, one down), the transformer, and the back of the doorbell itself in case any that helps determine if/how this could be done.
