I lost all recordings and my device isn’t recording any longer

My device stopped recording I’m trying to find out why is there some type of subscription for this app?

Nest Aware history starts getting recorded at the time you purchase a subscription.

For it to be otherwise would mean Google Nest was secretly recording our video history without our permission.
