Image previews not working since migrating from Nest App to Google Home App

I migrated both of our Nest Cam Outdoor devices from the Nest App to Google Home (after the forced notifications to migrate were pushed).  We will get a notification when activity is detected but never receive an image preview in the notification.   Over several hundred notifications, we have only had less than 10 notifications that have an image preview.    If I go to the activity log within the Home app, the events and image previews are there.      I've searched through the threads here and don't see any resolution to this.     I subscribe to the Nest Aware features too.

Any thoughts?

We have NOT transferred any of our 1st gen Google Nest cameras from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app. The transfer is not required at this point, we don't want to use the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, the transfer is still not available for 1st gen doorbells, and so many Google Nest app features are STILL lacking in the Google Home app:

The defect you're referring to is probably in the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app. You could try reporting it using "Feedback" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7071494), because there does not seem to be any other way of reporting defects in the "Public Preview" version.

Hello rminli,

I’m Sorry to hear you had a rough time after you migrated your Nest Camera to the Google Home App. If you're still having issues with the Google Home app, you can always switch back. Just keep these things in mind:

1. Any history your device made in the Home app will stick around until it naturally disappears. This includes video history for all cameras.

2. Moving forward, you'll need to use the Nest app to access all your device history.

3. You'll need to set up notifications again in the Nest app. They won't automatically transfer from the Home app.
4. It might be a good idea to check any routines you've set up for that device in the Home app. They might clash with Schedules in the Nest app.

Here are the steps to transfer your Nest device back to Nest app.

1. In the device settings in the Nest app, tap Transfer from the Home app.

2. On the confirmation page, tap Continue.

3. On the About page, tap Transfer.

4. On the next page, tap Ok to return to the home page.

Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — I'd suggest you share feedback about Google Nest.

Thanks for the help, @MplsCustomer.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
