Indoor/Outdoor Battery Nest Cam

This is really frustrating!! So, we have google fiber. It was all messed up and went down. A tech came today and totally fixed it. But they had to change our Google home account name and Wifi password as they reconfigured the system. So, for my nest cam, i tried to find a way to SIMPLY change the password and move it under my new Google home account that they had to set up.

There is NO way to simply do that!! So i did a factory reset and tried to get my new Google home account to find it. Couldn't find it. So did the QR code thing, then the set up asked if i had other Google cams on the Nest account. I did and migrated it to Google account a LONG time ago. It said it couldn't do anything until i migrated... I ALREADY DID!!!

So then i clicked that i had none of those other google doorbells, cams etc and set this up in a new account. Did the factory reset and then did the QR code that i had saved and tried to get it to set up. It said it could not find the **bleep** cam even tho i used the QR code and had the phone sitting right next to it!!! This is insane. All i want to do is change the Wifi password on this frickin nest cam so it can talk to my updated and fixed wifi system thru Google fiber. I am beyond pissed. I was on with google fiber for 2 hours yesterday until they finally sent a tech that knew something today to fix it. This cam is the worst!!

@MplsCustomerThanks for your reply and understanding. I finally held the reset button about 20 seconds on the cam and it finally found the new router configuration and I was able to complete the job. It NEVER should be this hard. They need to set it up as easy as changing the Wifi on an iPhone. Just click on the new location in the list, type in the password and bingo!!! This is absolutely insane and will drive me to an early grave (this is my second reset of this stupid nest cam).  Also, i moved my wired indoor cam over with relative ease. But now it doesn't recognize the daily schedule i set up (on from 11pm to 5am) and is on all the time. I guess I'll fight that battle later.

A Google tech person should know that, if a customer has Google Nest devices, it is difficult to reset the network name and password on many of those devices, and that, when setting up a new Wi-Fi router/modem, the network name (SSID) and password on the new router/modem should be set to the same values as on the old router/modem; that way, all the Google Nest devices can rejoin the network without any problems and without needing any additional changes. Google Nest itself says: "The simplest fix for most Nest products is to update your home network so that the network name (SSID) and password are the same as before." We did this when we got a new router/modem. Your Google tech should have known this.

These are Google Nest Help's instructions on changing Wi-Fi settings for Google Nest cameras and doorbells: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9223711?hl=en. Here are there instructions for changing Wi-Fi settings for Google Nest devices: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10165378?hl=en.

Sadly, the instructions have numerous nuances, and the path forward gets complicated depending on whether you've attempted other steps to address the problem.

PS The google tech said they couldn't even look at the nest cam. Company rules. Insane.

The problem has been resolved. Hopefully this type of complaint goes back to the product designers/engineers. Extremely problematic.
