Indoor camera QR code

AdamG1

I have just bought a Nest Cam, Indoor, Wired, 2nd generation. The product arrived in the box but there is no QR code.  I have found the set up code (6 letters) under the removable cover on the bottom.  But when setting up it asks me to enter the last 4 digits of the product serial number.

Please can someone tell me where the serial number is. It is not visible anywhere on the product.

Thanks

Thanks for this. In the end I created another new home and moved the thermostats in there. I now have all my thermostats (for heating) in the same home as the camera on Google Home
The gap is that my hot water control still does not show in Google Home

@AdamG1

The Serial Number is printed above the words "Setup Code" under the removable cover on the bottom of the camera.  The Serial Number is also on the box that came with the camera.

See 1:18 in the video found on this page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10931419

(The QR Code is supposed to be printed on a removable sticker that is stuck to the glass front on the camera (as shown at about 0:50 in the above video), and we as customers are asked to take that sticker and save it someplace.  Too bad if we lose it.)

Thanks, I've found it!  Yes, shame that there was no sticker on my camera.

The next problem is that the set up process has stalled.  It says "Choose the last 4 digits of your camera's serial number. It may take a few moments for it to appear in the list."

You helped me find the serial number (although it is letters, not digits - hope that doesn't matter) but the next problem is that there is no list of serial numbers to choose from.  And all you can do is exit - no help button.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I don't know.  Some customers in this forum have reported that if they waited awhile or tried later, the list was eventually populated--implying a delay with Google Nest's server populating the list when you submit the QR Code.  And yes, the serial number is a mixture of numbers and letters.

Hi Adam, since this is a user forum you won't get replies from Google where.  You best bet like MplsCustomer says is to wait and try again laster or you can open a support ticket and speak with a Google Tech via CHAT or PHONE CALL.  Here is the link to get you to that point:  I believe they are 24/7

Hi AdamG1,

Thanks for following up. Let’s further check this. Do you have multiple home structures in your account? If so, have you tried checking other home structures to access your Nest thermostats? Also, do you have an Android or iPhone?

Try the steps here:

  1. At the top left corner of the app home screen, tap Menu.
  2. Tap the home you want to switch to.
  3. You’ll be taken back to the app home screen where you can find the Nest products you have in the home you’ve selected.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT
