Infinity Death Loop

All of my hardwired cameras are dying every day, all day. When I click on the notification, there's an error. It won't load and when I exit out of the app, it loads after a minute or two. Then it says the hard wired device's battery is at 3%. Does exiting the app deplete 97% of the battery?

the delay when a device sensor detects something and when the video actually loads makes it feel like I just want to stare at the camera looking for an update.

because whatever triggered the sensor is already gone by the time Google gives me access to view it.

when I click on the video to watch, there's always a check back later option because the video is unavailable.

it's annoying and exhausting.

I've gone through exchanging "defective" cameras at least three times. I'm over it. Just fix it.

We chose not to get a 2nd gen battery doorbell when we added a doorbell to our third entrance a couple of years ago (we instead got a 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell and an OhmKat plug-in adapter) because even when the battery doorbell is hard-wired, it is still running on battery power and is trickle-charging (see this Help topic: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11830989).  Because it is running on battery power, it is normally in "Idle" mode and has to "wake up" to detect and record events.

I don't know why your batteries aren't staying charged.  Maybe it's your doorbell transformer.  As with other Google Nest customers, we upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer a couple of years ago for our 1st gen doorbells, and Google Nest says the 2nd gen doorbells require more power.

We do not encounter "check back later" errors, but judging from other posts in this forum, this can happen because of Wi-Fi issues.
