Interested in the Nest doorbell but I want to use my google one. Gdrive for storage

I already pay a premium for google drive storage.  I am interested in the doorbell but from what I am reading google wants to double bill, once to purchase the doorbell than bill a monthly fee to stream to the cloud.  Why can't I stream to my existing google drive,  or AWS storage.  Why do I have to pay twice?

Yes!  I pay monthly fees to google for cloud storage (google drive),  I want to minimize my monthly fees. I find monthly fees for a video doorbell is really taking advantage of your customer base. It should be trivial to point storage to a network attached local drive or an AWS/Google drive cloud storage account.

Agreed. Should be part of Google One if anything and I just buy more storage as necessary. Currently have no need to buy the larger tiers because of it.

  3. Tap Feedback 

and then

  1. tap the type of device you'd like to submit feedback for.
  2. To display available emails, in the "From:" section, tap the arrow on the right. Select your email address.
  3. In the feedback summary, write a brief description of your issue.
  4. Be sure to check the box for Screenshot and System logs.
  5. To submit feedback, at the top right corner, tap Send

Thanks, I am just a little disappointed there is no option to store on google drive or other cloud based storage. Looks like an obvious attempt to bilk the customer.  I am sorry to see Google heading down this path. Time for me to rethink which ecosystem to go with.
