Junk nest floodlight camera

Magnus2022

Had a functional camera and floodlights until 10 degrees hit. Camera quit. Camera lights came back on when temps warmed closer to freezing. Camera will not rejoin my network. Rebooted WIFI, reset camera, deleted home and rebuilt it and all the other cameras rejoined but this **bleep** box is useless.

@Magnus2022

I think the possibilities are  that you don't always have power turned on to your camera all the time, or your USB plug is defective (they're kind of flimsy), or your USB plug is not fully and tightly seated, or your camera is defective.

We have had a Google Nest Camera (Battery)--basically the same camera as the floodlight camera--plugged in with the optional power cable for the last 16 months, and it's always "Live" and recording, even at Minnesota winter temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

it has a dedicated circuit and the switch  on the wall is taped to prevent it being turned off. The floodlights never quit working the entire time ??????

@Magnus2022

Then you may be down to the other possibilities that I'm aware of: the USB plug is defective (they're kind of flimsy), or the USB plug is not fully and tightly seated, or the camera is defective.

camera is still MIA and will not connect to my Wi-Fi no matter what is tried. Very annoying for less than 1 year old expensive camera

I am having the same issue. My floodlight camera went offline yesterday but the light still works. Rebooted router and still nothing. My other cameras are fine.

Hey folks,

We’re sorry you’re still having trouble with your camera. Let’s sort this out. What’s the status light of your camera? When did the issue start? How far is the camera from the router? What Wi-Fi frequency band your camera is connected to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)? Were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network? Also, are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the cameras?

Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer and Brad.

Thanks,

JT
