Latest Google doorbell not sending notifications to phone.

im having an issue receiving notifications on my phone (pixel 7). I had notifications show up when I was getting it all set up and tested, but now they are not working. I have the Google home app on my phone and on my Google tablet, the tablet gets notifications for everything I have set. My phone, which I have compared to all notification settings to the tablet to be the same and even deleted and re-added the doorbell to the home app. Tablet immediately got notifications and my phone is getting nothing.

I'm sorry to hear you're not getting Nest Doorbell notifications on your Pixel 7. No worries; I'm here to help! To help me understand what might be causing this, could you tell me:

 

  • Can you see the video recordings on your Pixel 7?
  • In the Google Home app, under Settings > Notifications > General Notifications, do you see a banner that says "Critical alerts are turned off in this device's settings"?
  • How strong is the internet connection where the camera is placed?

Hi! Appreciate the reply in attempting to help me out.

I can see the recordings, stating the zone it was seen in, if there is a familiar face on the recording.

I have every notification option turned on in the home and nest app, gave both apps full permission to everything.

The camera is about 10 feet from where my router is located.

As stated in my original post, I have a pixel tablet and as soon as I setup the camera it gets notifications all the time and I compared both devices to make sure both were set up the same

Idk if it would be worth reinstalling the home app on my phone?

It would be great if we tried to uninstall and reinstall the app! Also, since the camera is working properly on other devices, we need to troubleshoot the Pixel 7. We can also check the app permissions on the mobile device:

 

  • Go to the device’s Settings.
  • Select apps and notifications.
  • Select all apps.
  • Locate the Home app. Google Home app.
  • Select Notifications.
  • Ensure that the toggle is on, Block All is disabled, and Allow Peeking is enabled.

Hi, sorry for the delay in response.

I have tried your suggestions and I did start getting notifications again...until I had to recharge the camera. Then the notifications stopped again 😅

I decided to delete the home app and reset everything.

So far does seem to be working. I will give it a couple days to make sure and then will update.
